In addition to its two quarries in Drury and Huntly, Stevenson Construction Materials operates a growing number of concrete plants across Auckland. We are well respected in the construction industry and take pride in our reputation for quality products, service and safety standards.
Due to the growth of our concrete business, we have created a new position of Customer Services Supervisor to oversee the dispatch and order taking team based at our Penrose concrete plant. We have intentionally called this role Customers Services Supervisor instead of Dispatch Supervisor because we really want to emphasise the point that this role is all about giving our customers an exceptional experience when they contact us and order concrete to be delivered.
The Customer Services Supervisor will be responsible for driving a high performing team with a focus on the following areas:
- Ensure that all customers receive excellent customer service
- Continuously review and improve processes and systems
- Achieve distribution based KPIs such as truck utilisation, delivery times and error minimisation
- Provide reports on truck movements and delivery times
- Ensure that driver hours are kept within legal requirements
- Take orders and dispatch trucks when call volumes are high
The successful applicant will have experience in a dispatch or call centre environment and have a proven track record of delivering great customer service. You will have an ability to build and coach people into a tight team that can really deliver in a high pressure environment (nothing creates pressure like concrete hardening in a truck bowl stuck in traffic while builders are waiting for delivery on site!). You’ll be a brilliant organiser, planner and problem solver, and your written and verbal communication will be top notch. Previous experience in the construction industry will be a bonus.
For the successful candidate, we offer a competitive remuneration package including fully subsidised health insurance, 4% KiwiSaver contributions as well as other benefits. This is a great opportunity to join an organisation that invests in its people.
Please note that you must have the right to work legally in New Zealand to be considered for this role. We also require short listed candidates to complete a pre-employment medical examination including a test for illegal drugs. We are advertising the role over the Christmas and New Year break but will not be conducting interviews until mid January.
