Building, Roading and Concrete Aggregate

Drury Quarry products and price list (effective 1 Oct 2008)
Huntly Quarry products and price list (effective 1 Oct 2008)

We produce a wide variety of products, including an extensive range of roading aggregates (premium Transit New Zealand and local body specified products), concrete and building aggregates, through to drainage and general fill materials, such as filling sand and decorative landscaping products (sand, boulders, pebbles and crushed shell).

We supply around a quarter of the aggregate required for the Auckland region.

We have an extensive in-house lotting, sampling and aggregate testing regime, executed by Stevenson Laboratory. Products are lotted, sampled and tested at specified frequencies and methods dependant on intended application, product design, production volume and process. Roading products are produced to comply with a number of current local or national authority specifications. In some instances sampling frequencies are dictated by external authorities.

Our comprehensive testing programmes ensure quality products, giving our clients the reassurance they’re seeking. Made-to-order products can be designed, manufactured and tested to provide client specific solutions.

All of our test data (IANZ-accredited reports) is made available in electronic format to clients for their own Contractual Compliance or Quality Assurance processes. Testing is carried out to current New Zealand Test Standards NZS 4407, NZS 3111 and various other international standards, such as ASTM (US) and BSEN (British/European).

Special Products

We offer a wide range of made-to-order products for our customers, including aggregate with superior grading control, aggregate with improved moisture control and aggregate with lime or cement additives.

Pug mill

With the introduction of a state-of-the-art pugmill (continuous mixing plant) in 2006, we are also able to offer highly specialised roading aggregates. Specifying these custom mixes can benefit our contractors through:

  • Improved grading control and onsite workability, which has the potential to reduce cost of placement.
  • Improved moisture control for easier compaction on site.
  • Ensuring regular laboratory testing for both aggregate/source properties and production properties.
  • Consistent application rates and blending of mixes compared with in situ lime or cement stabilisation.

Our custom mix aggregates also benefit specifiers and councils through:

  • Improved quality of fines in marginal aggregates leading to better performance and greater longevity for the aggregate.
  • Potential overall reduction of contractor and ongoing maintenance costs, over the lifecycle of the aggregate.
