At Stevenson, we place a very high value on staff wellbeing. We are committed to ensuring that there is no harm done to our people and the environment through our work activities. We work towards the elimination of work related injuries an illness.

We strive to achieve:

No Injuries and No Environmental Incidents with respect to People, Places or Property.

We work hard to make concern for health and safety and the environment part of the Stevenson culture. Our workforce is actively engaged in helping to develop safe and environmentally-sound practices and we have make our line management responsible for Environment, Health and Safety performance.

Our NO HARM goal is lead and supported by the Managing Director and all of the business CEOs. The aim is to change perceptions and behaviours through the introduction of our Safe Place and Safe Person initiatives.

A Safe Place initiative aims to deliver an excellent level of compliance and safety through the effective management of work place hazards and risks.

Our Safe Person initiative aims to drive a perception and behaviour change across the company by involving all levels of management, supervisors and employees in our Behaviour Observation program. Managers, Supervisors and Employees observe each other at work and reinforce good practices and safe behaviours by coaching one another.  

Four key focus areas have been identified targeted for specific safety improvement:

  • Machine Guarding
  • Driver Safety
  • Manual Handling
  • EHS Training

Stevenson Group has a target to achieve 10% improvement on Injury Rates within 6 months.
