Environment, Health and Safety

With an integrated approach to our environment, staff wellbeing and safety, the Stevenson Group is continually striving to produce more sustainable products.

We recognise that through responsible and sustainable management of our environment we can better protect our people and the environment, as well as the company’s assets and reputation. This approach is guided by 3 main principles:

Sustainbility

We are committed to a number of key sustainability initiatives that are currently underway.

These include looking at how we can create environmentally efficient buildings, rehabilitate quarry sites and better manage waste by recycling construction materials for building and road use. Tree planting and bush rehabilitation are high on our agenda, together with the development of innovative products. Find out more about some of our Sustainability Initiatives.

Sustainable Quarry Operations

Within Stevenson Aggregates, we have adopted sustainability at the core of our quarry management philosophy, implementing a number of strategies for sustainable development and operation at all of our quarries. Find out more.

Charitable Trust

We work hard to engage with the communities we live and work in. We feel it is important to be an active member of the districts in which we operate and are open to suggestions and requests from our neighbours. We are actively involved with planning in these areas as we seek to operate in harmony with those around us. Each of our businesses undertakes a range of community-oriented activities and the Stevenson family has significant community involvement through the Stevenson Foundation. Find out more.
